Senior Accountant

Reports To:  VP of Global Finance

Position Overview:  The Sr. Accountant works with an experienced team in the maintenance and completion of accurate general ledger and financial statements. Responsible for multiple aspects of accounting functions including monthly journal entries, internal control processes, financial reporting, and account reconciliation maintenance.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the month-end closing activities, including the review and preparation of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts and prepare consolidation of monthly financials for multiple companies
  • Assist with the production of weekly cash balance report and monthly management reporting packages
  • Research proper treatment of accounting topics and prepare recommendations under US GAAP
  • Coordinate and communicate with external auditors to support the annual review
  • Prepare the sales and use taxes and personal property taxes
  • Prepare the financial reporting packages to meet the quarterly reporting requirement of the bank
  • Provide tax data and information in support of annual tax return to the outside tax accountants
  • Prepare fixed asset roll forward; reconcile fixed assets general ledger accounts; perform impairment testing; determine useful lives of assets and ensuring the company’s fixed assets are accounted for pursuant to GAAP & the company’s capitalization policy
  • Assist and prepare schedules in support of annual audit of business insurances, workers compensation, and 401(K) plan
  • Perform various HR processes, such as the benefits renewal, the open enrollment, the orientation for new hires and the termination process
  • Review payroll process; payroll, tax and garnishment accounting; research and resolve payroll and benefits related issues
  • Assist in systems and spreadsheet automation to improve efficiency and effectiveness of accounting functions and processes
  • Perform other special projects or miscellaneous duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3 to 5 years of related financial analysis or full accounting cycle experience
  • Ability to meet all deadlines and handle multiple objectives in a dynamic environment with a high level of attention to detail
  • High degree of individual initiative and ability to work independently
  • Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills, QAD or other ERP systems experience a plus
  • Experience with a software implementation and administration a plus
  • Ability to crunch large quantities of data and analyze them
  • Good understanding of payroll accounting and good research skills for various HR related topics
  • A strong desire for continuous learning and career advancement
