Job Description:

Cloud Cybersecurity Engineer Senior is responsible for working with customer and solution teams for designing and deploying technical solution and developing the documentation required to successfully obtaining Agency cloud authorization to operate in public cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). This role is charged with providing strategic and tactical subject matter expertise (SME) to clients in the areas of cloud computing, security control compliance, and FISMA and FedRAMP authorization  

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the design and development of innovative security architectures for protecting data deployed in Cloud service providers. 
  • In charge of assessment, development, implementation, optimization, and documentation of a comprehensive and broad set of security technologies and processes in IaaS cloud environments.
  • A strong security posture in direct interaction with Devops teams in deployment of orchestration, automation, and security configuration management (Bamboo, Ansible preferred).
  • Candidate will provide day-to-day support for providing direction for monitoring the implementation of the required security controls, testing for compliance, and developing the associated documentation for a agency approval to operate
  • Should have experience with AWS Direct Connect service with designing networking solutions for extending Federal network to the AWS with experience troubleshooting networking, routing and inter-connectivity issues
  • Identity and access management (IAM) – the framework of security policies and technologies that limit and track the access of those in an organization to sensitive technology resources.
  • Security architecture, demonstrating solutions delivery, principles and emerging technologies - Designing and implementing security solutions. This includes continuous monitoring and making improvements to those solutions, working with an information security team.
  • Consulting and engineering in the development and design of security best practices and implementation of solid security principles across the organization, to meet business goals along with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working with security assessment teams during testing to be able to convey findings to technical and non-technical audiences, and analyze the results of vulnerability scans and/or penetration testing.
     

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct a self-assessment to support security assessment with minimal guidance
  • Experience and familiarity with cloud data security (FISMA/FedRAMP compliance) and working with public cloud solutions (AWS)
  • Should have 5+ years of experience with cybersecurity, the RMF process and the NIST 800-53 security controls, the Federal and/or DoD
  • Very good understanding of FedRAMP requirements
  • Should have a very good understanding of cloud networking and associated security requirements for cloud configurations
  • Communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical concepts to a variety of audiences
  • Work with minimal supervision, set priorities, with attention to detail and quality
     

Certifications

  • ISC Certified Authorization Professional (CAP) or ISACA - Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) 
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate
