Job Description
We are seeking Nuclear Medical Technologists to join our teams across the US. A Nuclear Medical Technologist is a healthcare professional who specializes in the safe and effective use of radioactive materials for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. They are responsible for preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals to patients, operating advanced imaging equipment, and providing high-quality patient care. Nuclear Medical Technologists work closely with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Measure and calculate appropriate dosages of radioactive materials, following strict safety protocols and adhering to applicable regulations
  • Utilize advanced imaging technologies such as gamma cameras, PET scanners, and SPECT systems to capture images of the body's internal structures and functions
  • Explain procedures to patients, ensure their comfort and safety during examinations, and provide appropriate instructions for pre- and post-examination care
  • Process and analyze diagnostic images, identifying areas of concern and providing detailed reports to physicians and radiologists
  • Perform routine quality control checks on imaging equipment and radiopharmaceuticals to ensure accurate and reliable results
  • Implement and maintain strict radiation safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and the environment from unnecessary exposure
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including imaging results, dosage information, and procedural details
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in nuclear medicine technology, techniques, and regulations through ongoing professional development

Clearance
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card
  • Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or related field
  • Successful completion of the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) examination or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Nuclear Medicine Certification
  • Proficiency in operating imaging equipment, familiarity with radiation safety protocols, and expertise in administering radiopharmaceuticals
  • Excellent communication and patient care abilities, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and position patients, and handle potential exposure to radiation
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of nuclear medicine practices and regulations
