Provide full scope of IT project management support for USPTO Enterprise Service Desk operations.  

Responsibilities:

  • Support all infrastructure projects.
  • Includes developing and maintaining Initial Business Proposals, Charters, Project Management Plans (PMPs), Lessons Learned after conclusion of the project, and Closeout for all assigned projects.
  • Build a project schedule in accordance to Program and Project Management Division policy for each project assigned, and obtain baseline approval within one month of project charter approval by the IT Project Review Board.
  • Monitor and advance all infrastructure activities via a project schedule.  Project schedules will be updated and status will be submitted weekly.  Project progress will be reported to sponsors and Program and Project Management Division management.
  • Abide by the established Program and Project Management Division Program and Project Management Policies and Procedures, as well as, provide all requisite programmatic documentation as prescribed by the Project Life Cycle and in accordance to the project schedule. 
  • Ensure that all project teams adhere to the Project Life Cycle and System Development Life Cycle tailoring guidance.
  • Provide advice and guidance to support the Program and Project Management Division in its continuous improvement efforts and maturity capability processes.
  • Abide by the established requirements gathering processes in all process improvement efforts to support incorporation of project management principles and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Help Desk Institute Certification
  • PMI/PMP
  • 10 years of experience as a program/project manager
  • Help Desk Management qualifications for 60 to 100 FTEs
  • Experience working for USPTO is highly desired
