Job Description
We are seeking Genetics Counselors to join our teams across the US.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain and analyze detailed family medical histories to assess the risk of inherited conditions
  • Educate patients and their families about the nature, inheritance patterns, and implications of genetic disorders
  • Interpret and communicate complex genetic test results to patients in a clear and understandable manner
  • Provide counseling and support to individuals and families coping with the emotional, psychological, and ethical implications of genetic disorders
  • Facilitate informed decision-making regarding genetic testing, reproductive options, and disease management
  • Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and other healthcare professionals, coordinating care and ensuring effective communication
  • Stay up to date with the latest developments in genetics, research, and testing technologies
  • Participate in research activities and contribute to the advancement of the field of genetic counseling
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and adhere to ethical and legal guidelines
Clearance
  • Pass/possess Public Trust

Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Genetic Counseling from an accredited program
  • Certification from the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) or the Canadian Association of Genetic Counsellors (CAGC)
  • Strong background in genetics, molecular biology, and related fields
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences
  • Empathy, emotional intelligence, and the ability to provide compassionate support to patients and families
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records and other relevant software applications
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of advances in the field
  • Adherence to ethical principles and standards of practice in genetic counseling
