Operations Manager
Our client is actively looking for a Operations Manager responsible for directing and managing all assembly and warehouse operations with overall responsibilities for production, warehouse, and other production-related activities.
Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):
- Direct and manage all production operations to meet short-term and long-term goals.
- Coordinate production activities through the planning with departmental heads and corporate facility to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner.
- Transform and continuously improve manufacturing capabilities through the use of lean manufacturing techniques.
- Develop and control annual budget, targets for location.
- Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries.
- Manage capital asset maintenance. Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
- Establish and monitor overall performance for production and quality standards.
- Ensure critical metrics are achieved and maintained from lead times, OTD and quality.
- Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
- Implement and maintain preventative maintenance and safety programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Business, Operations Management, engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Ten (10) years of manufacturing experience with five (5) years of supervisory or managerial experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma concepts, and Safety Fundamentals such as OSHA regulations.
- Strong managerial skills to manage technologies, assets (including personnel), spending targets (including expense and capital) and strategic planning.
- Excellent problem solving, communication, team-building and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of AS 400 or equivalent ERP preferred.
